I have talked in a previous post about taking small steps and how this leads to big changes. Or brains take time to form new pathways of thinking and behaviour. It is often helpful to imagine you are standing on the top of a snowy mountain… looking down you can see your old pathway in the snow; old unwanted thinking and behaviours that have been followed may times. Your new focus of going in a different direction is self-directive and clear as you start to take control and form a new path down the mountain, one with your preferred thinking and behaviours. Over time the old path starts to disappear as it covers with snow, and your chosen new one begins to be seen. The more you walk this new path the stronger and clearer it becomes in the snow… so just keep going.
